Dark Water 04:24
Outside there's a storm a brewin' The wicked winds are rollin' on in And when the calm enters your soul That's when you'll know that this is the end I've been wading in Dark Water Nearly drowning by my pride I kept on wallowing on that whiskey I kept on drinking that strawberry wine In the darkness you can see forever but don't let it drag you down When the waters get heavy don't let it sink you down Sinking in rivers for miles and miles Somehow I always cross the line Seeping in rivers of doubt I left all reasoning behind I've been wading in Dark Water Nearly drowning by my pride I kept on wallowing on that whiskey I kept on drinking that strawberry wine In the darkness you can see forever but don't let it drag you down When the waters get heavy don't let it sink you down

Well here we are, made of blood and bones Teaching our children to go and throw stones Can you look in the mirror and like what you see, or will lie to yourself for this thing you call a dream? When will we ever learn? We didn't come this far to watch the world burn. When will ever see that people sacrificed for our right to be free? And I hope we will see the light and maybe one day we'll get it right I hope we will see the light and maybe we'll get it right We kept on hoping, we worked hard We paid our dues for a chance at a start What happened to the days when we loved one another? 'Cause everyone is someone's son or daughter When will we ever learn? We didn't come this far to watch the world burn. When will ever see that people sacrificed for our right to be free? And I hope we will see the light and maybe one day we'll get it right I hope we will see the light and maybe we'll get it right

Picture perfect memories locked inside the frame, if only it was like that now I'd trade in my tomorrow's just for one more yesterday If only it was easy somehow But nothing's ever as it seems, sometimes when you get older the color fades from your dreams If only I knew then, what I know now If only it was easy somehow Maybe I was holdin on Maybe I was holdin back Now the moment is gone and I just one more chance Maybe I was tryin too hard Maybe you weren't tryin enough Now the time has come and I don't want to give up I just wanted one more chance Sometimes it can feel like you're stuck in reverse Tryin to move forward, for better or for worse Time may not heal all those old wounds But if we give it one more shot, I'd still want to be with you Maybe I was holdin on Maybe I was holdin back Now the moment is gone and I just one more chance Maybe I was tryin too hard Maybe you weren't tryin enough Now the time has come and I don't want to give up I just wanted one more chance

We're out here doing what it takes in this land of broken promises. Who will save us? Who will save us? The Hustler and the Cheater, the Gambler and the Dealer on the sidelines trying to nickel and dime, stealing all your time. You worked hard all your life, got a brand new ride but you're in the back seat, can't control your destiny, stuck in the irony. Oh, this American life... Bought and sold the right, to be free is to fight. Oh, this American dream... It's not at all what it seems, but I'm still believing, in this American life. When you were younger they told you that you could do anything, you could be anything, to just follow your dreams. They don't tell you how much it costs, the golden years that get lost in between, privilege and inequality, the harsh reality. Oh, this American life... Bought and sold the right, to be free is to fight. Oh, this American dream... It's not at all what it seems, but I'm still believing, in this American life.

Some days you wanna live Some days you wanna die But no one knows what's coming up on the Other Side Some days you're born to win Some days are made to lose You spent some time lookin' around for signs on how you're gonna choose There will always be one for the money, two for the show Don't you give up now, you gotta long way to go Cut your teeth on the truth and it left a scar Breaking is easy, holdin' on is hard Spring bled into Summer then Winter turned mean and that grass on the other side never turned green Some days feel so right Some days feel so wrong I hope you find the strength to carry on There will always be one for the money, two for the show Don't you give up now, you gotta long way to go Cut your teeth on the truth and it left a scar Breaking is easy, holdin' on is hard

Starting all over again was never part of the plan But that's just how it goes sometimes 'Cause life can turn on a dime Well if you're not careful you can give it all away And if you trust too much you're risking all the pain I wanna go somewhere no one knows my name I wanna head on down the road, get lost and ride the wind a change is gonna come as fast as the West bound train Waiting for new life to begin, so I'm starting all over again It's so easy to give up and runaway, and let go of things that made you stay I never knew how hard life could be Filled with hardscrabble elegies Well if you're not careful you can give it all away And if you trust too much you're risking all the pain I wanna go somewhere no one knows my name I wanna head on down the road, get lost and ride the wind a change is gonna come as fast as the West bound train Waiting for new life to begin, so I'm starting all over again

I'm an open highway with a bunch of wrong turns Been here a time or two you'd of think I'd learned... Oooh I've danced with the devil in the ring of fire You're bound to get burned walking on wires Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground... When I get down on my knees to pray Got too many sins to wash away So strike match watch me go up in flames and may the bridges I burn light the way Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground.... Got a fistful of dollar and a full tank of gas Round and round goin' nowhere fast I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none And now I'm running down the road I'm a gone, gone, gone.... Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground Ashes to ashes I'm falling down When the dust settles back on the ground...

Since you've gone and left this dusty old town I've been filling up my lonely nights drinkin' it all down I spent all my money and I wasted all my time And I know when I get home you'll still be on my mind I'm tired of this town I'm tired of this old bar I'm tired of taking chances and not getting very far Each day that fades away, you've left me standing alone in the dark I'm tired of this town, I'm tired of this town Well I can't tell if I'm just livin' Or barely holdin' on Only time will tell if this road is close to done You broke me like a promise All those empty-hearted words Now I'm left picking up the pieces at every turn I'm tired of this town I'm tired of this old bar I'm tired of taking chances and not getting very far Each day that fades away, you've left me standing alone in the dark I'm tired of this town, I'm tired of this town I'm tired of this town, I'm tired of this town

Only a Woman 04:44
'What do I know I'm only a woman?' I'm just a delicate flower with no opinion. He said "don't worry your pretty little head about nothin'" and "Honey don't you know that silence is golden"? Oooh... He said, "Girl you better know your place, before I go repeal and replace." I'm tired of walking alone afraid And I'm mad as hell in this day and age that this is where we are today... but what do I know I'm only a woman. We shouldn't have to impress the ones in high places doing whatever it takes to get in good graces It's hard to stand tall in the shadow of a man With everyone's head buried in the sand.... Oooh... He said, "What do I care what you have to say, it doesn't matter anyway." I'm tired of walking alone afraid And I'm mad as hell in this day and age that this is where we are today... but 'what do I know I'm only a woman.' I'm not gonna give up, I'm gonna keep on walking I'm not gonna give in, I'm gonna on talking I'm not gonna give up, I'm gonna keep on walking I'm not gonna give in, 'cause you should know better I am a woman.

The War 05:27
The war inside of your mind it keeps on killing the quiet you keep on searching, but you never find it Calloused and bruised You've been torn up and used When will you ever give up the fight? And I reckon that I will carry the burden And I shall bear the brunt of the load Taking all that you have onto my shoulders So you can finally let go So you can finally let go Inside your fragile heart Afraid you won't finish what you started You might not, honey you might not Break down the walls You don't have to be so damn strong Drive out the demons and move on And I reckon that I will carry the burden And I shall bear the brunt of the load Taking all that you have onto my shoulders So you can finally let go So you can finally let go

I remember the first time that I ever saw you I knew that everything had changed, I knew that nothing would be the same You broke me wide open and let some light shine in Into the darkest parts of my mind I had crawled in But I never shed this old skin And I never told you Just how lucky I was to have you And now I'm looking back on When you were mine You were a rolling thunder That came crashing the sky And when the storm had passed you just rolled by and left me standing in the rain I remember the last time that I ever saw you You said you were doing fine And how the years just float by But I never told you Just how lucky I was to have you And now I'm looking back on When you were mine
